Hermitage Harriers men’s team claimed third place in the University of Leicester Relays on Saturday. The event saw a record number of teams entering - both from local clubs and athletic University teams around the country.
Tony Woodward, James Willoughby, Pete Armstrong and Matt Adcock fought off some strong competition to claim 3rd place over the 3k course and clocked up a combined team time of just 39 minutes and 30 seconds.
Team University of Leicester secured second place behind an outstanding performance from relay winners Warwick University.
Hermitage Harriers also entered three mixed teams into the event and, although they did not place in the top three, the event was very much enjoyed by all. Harrier Katie Smith said: "the relays were great fun. We were in good company today with some very talented young athletes - the racing was immensely quick paced!"
