The second fixture of the cross country league saw Hermitage Harriers scoop first place for the combined team with a total of 264 points - their second consecutive win. The men’s team clocked up 258 points, claiming second place and the ladies maintained a strong presence in fifth place with 124 points.
A total of 36 Harriers took on the muddy conditions of Bagworth Heath on Sunday 7th December. Mia Weston continued her success from Markfield XC by being first female Harrier over the finish line in 21st place overall, followed by teammates Zoe Sewter in 27th and Louise Mason in 30th place. For the men, who are reigning XC champions, Tony Woodward was first home in 3rd position preceding Jason Williams in 17th and Ryan Twigg in 25th.
The club’s combined team win follows a string of recent successes including placing first for the men’s and combined teams at the opening XC fixture in Markfield and individual successes across a range of different events.
