Last week seemed to be the week for mid-week runs, as the Hermitage Harriers journeyed around the County in various competitive outings.
Last Wednesday evening saw the latest LRRL race meeting, the Hungarton 7.
Ally Watson led the Harriers in, just 11 secs off the lead, for an overall 2nd place and 37:29 secs.
A great ding-dong between the next 4 Harriers eventually saw Paul Gregory home in 42:42, followed by Darren Weston who posted a huge 4min 30 sec improvement over 2010, and personal best for the distance in 42:53/36th with Shaun Coulton 43:14/44th & Darren Wilson 43:19/47th.
Andy Buck finished 76th in a new PB time of 45:28 with Matt Adcock 46:20/91st & Mark Bradford 47:09/103rd completing the scoring 8 men.
Also with a brand new personal best came Jo Matthews, who led our ladies home in 49:18/136th & Dean Kelleher, another PB holder in 50:28/165th.
Craig Johnson crushed his previous personal best by a whole 5 minutes to finish in 52:09/191st, Carl Rutt 52:59/211th, Rob Hickey 54:06/230th.

There were 447 finishers.
Then on Friday evening, 3 members managed to avoid the horrendous thunderstorms, rain and hail that hit Coalville and ran the Beacon Hill Trail Run. The course is the same as the Skeleton Run which is held every October. 103 people completed the tough trail course taking you twice over the top of Beacon Hill . First Harrier home was 2nd claim member Phil Abbott in a time of 32:49 in 5th place (2nd dog-cross runner), then next home for Hermitage was Caroline Scrimshaw at 48:51 in 70th and finally Aaron Bird at 50:59 in 79th.
The Hermitage Harriers meet at 7pm each Tuesday & Friday at the Hermitage Leisure Centre and welcome new members of all abilities.
