Hermitage Harriers were again out in force on Wednesday 8th July, with a midweek showing of 18 runners, taking on the challenging 7 mile Hungarton route.
It was the 25th Anniversary of the Hungarton 7 road race, so to celebrate, the race hosts, Wreake Runners decided to run the course in reverse to normal - how it was run 25 years ago.
First home for the Harriers was Paul Gregory in a time of 41:43 and an overall position of 22nd out of the 447 finishers. Following were the other Harriers, all of which were glad to be running in perfect conditions, after two previous weekends of torrential rain at Swithland and the oppressive heat & humidity at Prestwold. Another strong performance by all, with half of the Harriers crowd achieving personal best times. Provisional results only at present.
Honour of the day goes to Judith Brand who, not only achieved a personal best at the 7 mile distance, is delighted to have also won the Ladies V50 trophy.
