Four Harriers took part in the London Marathon on Sunday 26th April, the last to be sponsored by Flora who are replaced as sponsors by Virgin next year.
The weather was warmer than had been forecast but that did not stop Paul Gregory from continuing the excellent form he's been in recently to record an exceptional 4 minute pb time of 2:38:52 to finish in 159th place overall - a time that would have won him the Stratford Marathon.
Following Paul home was recent recruit Peter Mann in a time of 3:02:01. David Kind and Nigel Stock completed the Harriers line-up with Dave finishing just outside last year's time in 3:22:12 and Nigel, in his first London Marathon and in preparation for the Windermere Marathon in the middle of May finishing in 3:32:06.
From the country's largest to reputably its smallest marathon - whilst the eyes of the media were on the London Marathon Ruth Mann and Aaron Bird took part in the Tresco Marathon on the Isles of Scilly. This involves seven and a half laps of the tiny island, with Ruth finishing in 4:54:11 and Aaron in 5:51:45.
